Yeah I know what you mean, coming up with the idea and placement I knew I wasn’t going to get it for awhile. Honestly though I’ll probably be getting more work done before this piece, so that will kinda ease me over until then.
I was just looking at Jeff Gogue’s website, he’s booked like two years in advance and not taking any clients for awhile either

Definitely. Ha yeah actually, he’s the one Id choose first, he’s got some great work. Its cool because Im now thinking of adding two photos/portraits to the piece, and I know if I bring him both, they would look exactly like the picture.
Wow thats a long wait, but Im perfectly fine with that. I probably wasnt looking to get it for at least…[Read more]

Thats exactly what I was thinking. I just wasnt sure because what if a couple said yes. But then again Im sure it wouldnt really matter to them if I had to cancel on one, since they are so booked anyway. Thanks for the reassurance.

The only tattoos I have are two large pieces down my sides. Both times it’s worked about the same. Make an appointment to get it started, then finish the piece about two months after it’s started. That way it gives me time to get excited about what it’s going to look like finished without seeming like an addict(haha which I’m started to become),…[Read more]

You need to put fragrance free lotion on it 2 or 3 times a day and after you wash it until it stops peeling. It won’t stop peeling until about 3 weeks or so after you get the tattoo done

Thanks for your time, guys. If anyone else has any idea why it healed so poorly….A&D the whole time? Even when it started to peel? When it starts to peel you need to apply unscented…[Read more]

I’ll be honest I have no idea how it turned to that, but did you use lotion when it started to peel? And make sure where ever you get it touched up at, it’s a really good shop, do some research.

I’d look up some good artists in your area and go to them directly and see what they say. A good artist can definitely fix it up, you just have to find a good one and show them the work you want redone. Good luck

Looks ALOT better, good choice to move onto a new artist. Who is the new artist?

I know exactly what u mean haha it sucks. Right after the tattoo session is over the first thing I think about is in a few days how bad the itching is going to be haha. But honestly it just make me feel more accomplished when it’s all healed, if that makes any sense. And you can always try putting a bag of ice on your new tattoo.

That’s interesting, the shop manager where I go has the same thing with a couple small circles within the tattoo that aren’t covered with any ink. One of the artists at the shop has the same thing. Always wondered if there was a meaning behind it.

You can try to have the artist add a scroll behind the words with roses wrapping around. If not that you can somehow incorporate clouds into the tattoo. Those are just a couple quick ideas, but there’s definatly a lot more you can do.

I agree with Gsouder. The shop I go to will take appointments for consultations specifically for this reason, to sketch up a few different drawings of what you want. That way you can see what you like and what you don’t like. Just take your idea to the shop you want to go to and see what they can do.

My first tattoo was on the side of my back and continued to my ribs, the artist started on my ribs and yeah it hurt haha. But honestly to me it all kinda hurts. I got my second tattoo which is a pretty big piece on the other side of my back and also continues to my ribs. In my opinion the ribs hurt but not too much more than any other spot, but…[Read more]
