Thank you. And yep those were my thoughts exactly when it was finished, that it just seems a bit unnatural. This piece is done, but I want it to flow into a half sleeve. I dont know what the half sleeve will be yet, but I want the chest piece to be a part of it.

Haha thanks. Honestly not really a story behind it. The background is a small portion of the two skylines of the cities I grew up in. I came up with the idea a little while ago of the woman, but only because I liked the idea. I actually found that first picture after I came up with the idea, and just showed it to the artist
I want this to flow…[Read more]

My only suggestion is go to a good artist who can do a good job with that idea

I dont know if I follow you. The reason an artist would say your “skin type” is harder to tattoo is if you have a darker skin tone. Colors show up better on light skin. I may be wrong, but I’ve never heard anything saying that skin is hard to tattoo because of how elastic it is…

I was being sarcastic man. It’s not going to be that much…but like I said no one except the shop will be able to tell you how much it is.

Probably around $10,000…and thats just black and grey, if you wanted to go color at least $15,000. But then again how big is your arm? It could lower or raise the price depending on if you have a small or large bicep.
Seriously…just call or go to a tattoo shop and ask. No one can tell you on the internet

I like this, this has definitely been true for me. Ideas are always floating in my head, but the tattoos I’ve gone through with have been the ideas that I fall in love with right away. I ponder it for a little while longer, then when…[Read more]

The arm shouldnt be too bad. Youll do fine.
As far as aftercare wait to see what your artist says but a general guideline is:
1. Take bandage off tattoo two hours after your done
2. Wash the tattoo gently and pat/let it air dry
3. Put on some ointment like aquaphor, and put this on 3 times daily until the tattoo peals(anywhere from 2-5 days,…[Read more] -

Thanks for the reply. I just thought I remembered reading that the chest was a painful spot, or maybe it was just the sternum… Ha that makes me feel a lot better.

How is the chest/pec area compared to the ribs? I’ve got two large pieces down both my ribs. And will be getting work done on my chest/pec soon.

So I gave Dave Allen a call and set up an appointment. The appointments not till october, and he told me in the meantime to just get pictures of certain things like how I want the lips to be, what I want the girl to look like, etc. I’m pretty excited for this piece

Definitely two different styles. I’m just not sure which style I like more. To me Dave Allen would be the better pick, I’m just not sure how he’d make the smoke look, and if I added the sunglasses with the reflection I’m not sure how that would look either. Not that I think he’d do a bad job, its just the fact that I don’t really see those two…[Read more]

Well the thing is, a lot of stuff would cover it. That’s really for you to decide what you want, and take your idea to a professional artist and then see what they say. But it will probably have to be somewhat of a larger cover up, ehh but then again maybe not. Can’t really tell how large the current tattoo is.

Yeah I know what you mean, coming up with the idea and placement I knew I wasn’t going to get it for awhile. Honestly though I’ll probably be getting more work done before this piece, so that will kinda ease me over until then.
I was just looking at Jeff Gogue’s website, he’s booked like two years in advance and not taking any clients for awhile either
