If you are still considering wording, I have always liked the quote of Churchill:
“Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”
That was my first thought. Would probably be the easiest way for you in the long run, however I dont have any personal experience with lasering off hair…
I would use imageshack.us and then click the little icon with mountains when you write a reply and just enter the link to the image 😉
I like the first one better, but what really matters here is your taste 😉
Overall it looks very nice!
Honestly, if none of your friends who tattoo can even draw that, why do you think it would be a good idea for them to tattoo it on you?
Dont know but could the answer be sun screen?
Name
SSN
I hesitate with that as I don’t want someone to be able to get my personal info just because I’m walking around with my shirt off.
I would opt against it for exactly that reason.
Also, this info is technically not necessary to save your life.
Definitely include allergies if you any, I’ve been thinking about that myself as I’m allergic to various antibiotics…
Other than that I wouldnt put too much, pretty much what Outlaw suggested. Just the essentials.
Unless you have any other specifics you’d like them to know, like DNR etc.
If I’m not mistaken it says “As above so below, as within so without”.
As far as I know relates to Hermeticism? I would probably try to stick with that topic and get something relating to the three sources of wisdom. The sun, the moon and the stars could be a good fit? Maybe your Zodiac sign in a realistic form of stars, if that holds significance for you? If you want to be a little more diverse, how about something related to laboratories for Alchemy? Or you could try to somehow fit the Caduceus…? What is important about Hermeticism to you? Why did you decide to get the quote? I know that you said you got it spontaneously, but why did you choose *this* quote? Maybe that will help you find out what fits for you personally?
or a full on drawing?
I would assume that most artists will charge you for a custom sketch. Many studios take deposits before they start drawing so that in the case that you change your mind they did not waste their time.
I am aware that you are just looking for an artist, not a tattoo artists, but since that artist is not going to be the one doing the tattoo and therefore does not have any prospect of earning money later on I am sure that they will indeed be charging you for their work. Tattoo artists on the other hand may then not be too happy to exactly copy someone else’s work, but again, I’m just assuming that.
I definitely think that you would be better suited to look for a tattoo artist near you whose style you like and then set up an appointment to discuss your ideas. They might even do a rough sketch for you, and if you do decide to get it tattoed, you already know that the artist will be willing to work with the design!
First of all let me say that I’m sorry that you lost your mother last week.
I think your idea is wonderful because it is truly personal and unique. I am not familiar with the book, but does it contain any illustrations of the moon that might fit your concept?
What kind of style do you have in mind? Realistic? Drawing? Comic style? Old school? New school? I’m sure there are many more… Also what type of moon? Full moon? Half moon?
Personally I immediately thought of a moon wearing a sleepy head but since this is such a personal tattoo, I really think you are the one who needs to decide on all these details! Once you are clear on how you want it, take it to an artist of your choice whose style you like and let him do his magic 🙂
Knowing what it says I am now able to make out the corresponding Latin words, but before I really couldn’t read it, except for the “amor” which is pretty clearly legible I think. It’s an interesting concept to have words in the web, not really my kind of design but if you are happy with it that’s great! I do agree with creativeinky though, it does come across a bit “dark” in a way…
The paper lantern is a great idea, haven’t seen that in tattoos very often, if at all!
Looks like it’s going to turn out great, congrats 🙂

Hmmm… Well the picture is not really clear, it looks like it might be a rash?
Does it hurt when you touch it?
If in doubt, I’d go to a doctor!
No one is forcing you to get your junk pierced. If you’re no happy with the price, don’t do it.
I think it’s perfectly understandable that professional piercers charge a premium for certain areas.
Also, if you originally had it done “years back”, have you considered that prices may generally have gone up?
I’d rather pay more and get a quality job. Not that I would ever get a piercing in an intimate area, but to each their own.
