I have red poppies. healed just like any other ink.. as long as the ink is “good” quality, I believe the allergy thing is a myth.

If it were me (and I’m personal friends my my artist).. I’d go in and say, “hey, I want a flower/butterfly piece on my shoulder and i have $xx.xx amount of money to spend on it.. can you help me design something that will fall in that price range?”

I play roller derby and have to wear arm pads (elbow & wrist) when I play.. ( I have arm tattoos). I have found that using “after Inked” tattoo moisturizer from the moment the tattoo is on has everything healed up within 2 weeks and at least twice as fast as anything else I’ve ever used on new tattoos..
It’s $20 a bottle at the shop I go to,…[Read more]

I’m new here too..
I think the rationale holds true no matter where you are that it’s not necessarily the message, but rather the tone & delivery of the message…
I’d suggest a polite, “Hi, welcome! Please be sure to post an intro for us so we can learn more about you!”
P.S. the tattoo idea of the OP is…[Read more]

I just started on “The Shack” by William P Young which is a religious fiction book…. I saw it on the shelf at Target, and flipped it over and got intrigued.
I am NOT religious, per se, but I can be spiritual and the book is very interesting. I got a B & Nobles Nook for Christmas so I paid $6.00 for the ebook and am about half way through…[Read more]

I knew going in that this would not be a tattoo that everyone would like… the portrait is a stencil of a drawing that someone did that I like. It’s not supposed to be a “perfect” lined tattoo, and I really like the way it turned out myself.
I am definitely looking at adding more background pieces to the piece– I have large poppies lined up…[Read more]

I read Gregory Maguire’s “Wicked” and realized that there is another side to every story… I found that portrait piece on Deviantart.com that a girl had sketched out and really liked the look —
had trouble deciding between the portrait versus full body, so I just did both!!

The guy that does my work is super particular about his stuff– I have no doubt if it’s a matter of cheap stuff or bad environment– I don’t need to worry at all…
They use his shop to train the new health inspectors..

Yeah- he/she can straighten out the lines ….. I can’t believe I’m going to post this…
before:
after– lines straight, nice celtic knotwork added:
The outline really doesn’t look all that much thicker– very subtle…. the scar in the middle from a crappy artist is hidden a little better… rework done by Marc Rainville at Art Attack…[Read more]

Was he resting his palm there as he was inking? Alot of times, they are using your body to brace their hands on while they work and probably are applying more pressure than they know (or you feel at the moment)

A decent tattoo artist can make that green star more “symmetrical” if you want. I had a really crappy star with horrible lines and got it fixed and I’m very happy with it now…
I don’t think yours looks bad though– makes it look 2 dimensional… (like it’s floating thru air)

I just looked at her pics.. I thought you guys were talking about the front of the neck- but if looks like she has a back of neck tattoo..
Just wondering if that really “counts” as a “job killer” kind of tattoo– most girls have hair that hides the back of the neck…
(I love it by the way Miss Ivey) 🙂

The design for my Tree of Life was printed out and hung on the refrigerator door for 2 years before I inked it onto my body… I kept going back and forth between all black versus color…
“My” personal rule for tattoos is.. don’t get anything that you simply CANNOT live without… it has to be an all consuming design for me– with…[Read more]
