I do understand that ink needs to be touched up over the years, but that wasn’t my point. I’ve seen/worked with alot of people who have gotten tattoos and they are really excited when they get it, but weeks/months later they realize that “oh hey, he (the artist) fucked up here.” or “man, what the fuck is this?” Basically from what I hear it’s usually a sub-par artist or a rookie. Either way, those people usually have bad drawing skills as well.
I also agree that finding a great artist is like striking gold, because most of what you find are lazy or sub-par artists. My feeling on the subject is, if I am paying for it AND it has to stay on my body for life, then fuck, I better get what I want, not what someone else tries (and fails) to do.
