I tried responding to this earlier, but the internet was going too slow. Darn work computers!

Anyway, like Joker1 said, I was imagining a tree or some sort of nature piece too. I also think a phoenix could be a very meaningful piece for this too. I guess it juse depends on your own personal style =]

It just really struck me that everything I’ve read, (I’ve got a lotta free time at work, so I was just flipping through different sites), and nothing I read mentioned to try, make sure it isn’t going to effect you badly.

Oh, don’t worry. I did the same thing. I have quite a bit of free time at work too 😀

I think I read through all the posts on here and as many articles and pages I found on google that I could before I got my tattoo done. And I did notice that not many people said to test products first… I guess people are stubborn. If it worked for them, it just has to work for everyone! :p

Well, I used A&D for the first few days, then switched to Aveeno lotion. It worked for me, and I didn’t have any bad reactions or anything from it.

I haven’t heard of Ink Fixx, and I’ve heard mixed reviews about both A&D and Bacitracin. You’re going to get a lot of mixed answers on here, just because of people’s personal preferences.

So yes, you should definitely do a test area first! Different people react differently to lotions and ointments. It’s best to find out now if it’s safe instead of after your tattoo. People freak out enough during the healing process because it’s a new experience. Don’t want to add any more anxiety, eh? =P

Wow, I really like it =]

And John 15:5 is a great verse… I was thinking about possibly designing a tattoo around it to either add on to my current one (which is inspired from Isaiah 40:8) or as a new one. Looks like you beat me to it =]

And welcome to the forums!

Just wanted to say a sweet tattoo and is it the passage that refers to flowers in bloom fading but the word of G-d still stands true?

Yep, that’s the passage =]

It’s been a big help in my life the past few years, which is why I decided to base my design around it.

I definitely didn’t expect this to be such a hot topic!

And I didn’t really mean to drag my fiance into this. He’s a great guy, he just… hasn’t had much exposure to the tattooing world. But he already said he’d get a tattoo with me once we’re married, so I’m slowly easing him into it. I’m still planning on getting my beloved tree sometime, and he’ll just have to deal with it. Maybe he’ll feel better with it once we’re actually together and sees my current piece (since we’re unfortunately stuck doing a long-distance thing for a while…). Who knows? Maybe he’ll end up a tatto fiend too =D

But I agree with most of the replies here. Yes, there are slutty girls with tattoos, but I think well-done tattoos can and are beautiful on us women-folk =]

Well, I sort of did both. My inspiration was a Bible verse (yeah, yeah… please don’t get into any religious discussions or flaming), and I used a design of a flower that had been in my head for a few years. But I also searched through hundreds and hundreds of images online so I could sort of see what works, what looked like crap, and what sort of placing would look good. I did custom draw mine, and my tattoo artist tweaked it a little, but I definitely used other pics and tattoos as inspiration for it.

So I suggest doing a google image search of gambling tattoos, and also head over to the Inked Skin forum on here. I know I saw a few gambling-themed tattoos over there, and there was one in particular that I thought was very well done (and gambling-themed isn’t my style). Once you find some that you like, either start drawing up a design you like or take it to your tattoo artist and have them design something for you. Good luck!
