I used Simple – no fragrance or colour. That’s not antibacterial.
Nice.
Afraid I can’t offer advice on where you having it as not got one there and no expert. (cue the resident experts…) 🙂
If it’s something you are really sure about then its a real buzz and although nervous, very exciting!
As for your Dad, my folks were dubious – nothing bad and they acknowledge the fact that I’m old enough to decide and they couldn’t ‘tell’ me what to do.
I talked it through, reassured them and told them that I wanted them to know before I had it done (it was booked) rather than find out after.
They accepted it and once sure I was sure were ok. My Mum even said she liked it 😀
Good luck with it
No worries. Boot stores stock it.
Let me know how you get on 🙂
I was advised to use either Bepanthan or Bachs Rescue Cream by the artist I used and I opted for Bachs as it’s natural and plant extracts only.
It’s got antiseptic, healing and moisturising properties so used just that and healed in about a week – no itching or scabbing.
It’s not overly expensive either.
Hope you get sorted 😮
Sorry to hear that Matthew.
I read lots of your posts and as has already been said, you have a real passion for the art which is evident and are more than willing to help.
The main thing is that you found out before things could have gone badly wrong.
It’s disappointing but your health is more important.
I’ve only got the one..
Used Bach’s rescue cream (healing and moisturising) 3 times a day, washed with perfume & colour free shower cream (Simple) and had no itching or scabbing just light flaking and was ‘healed’ in just over a week 🙂
Hi
I’m no expert (I only got my first 5 weeks ago) I was told the same as you’ve been advised (the guys on here are so knowledgable)
I was told to use either bepanthen or Bach’s rescue cream (which I opted for as it’s just plant extracts and natural) – I only had very light peeling and no itching!
😀
Hi
I’m no expert (I only got my first 4 weeks ago) and I’m sure you’ll get loads of responses soon, as everyone here is more than willling to help (there is so much knowledge)
I was told same thing – do what I’d normally do and use either bepanthen or Bach’s rescue cream (which I opted for as it’s just plant extracts and natural).
I washed the area gently using fingers and it was fine. I only had very light peeling and no itching!
I think so long as you’re gentle and the sponge isn’t going to have an abrasive effect should be ok.
I’m also sure that if I’m completely wrong, I’ll be corrected soon enough!
😀
I’m no expert (I only have the one) and I’m sure there are loads of people on here who can offer much more help, however;
I was told to leave covered (with cling) for at least 4 hours, I then washed gently with scent free etc and covered again with cling overnight. Next day wash again and applied ‘Bach’s Rescue Cream’ 3 times a day – re-covering every time.
Left uncovered but washed as normal every day and applied that lotion and I had slight peeling after about 5 days, that was it, no scabbing, no itching!
Not sure if that helps.
Highly recommend the Bach’s stuff though – is all natural, plant based.
haha why do I get the feeling that I’m wrong thinking I’ll just have the one? 😉
I really like your thoughts and ideas! sounds great.
Thanks! – Sort of, I’m not arty at all but my other half made suggestions so a 3 way discussion with him, me and the tattooist and we got there.
Hi Lea,
I’m new too and got my first yesterday.
Took a while to get the design I wanted but is worth it.
So, any ideas what you’re after?
