you will be fine, just make sure you have a good meal with plenty of carbohydrates and a something sugary like a chocolate bar before hand…. take a bottle of coke cola with ya and you will be fine

dont be tempted to take any pain killers before hand and definately no alcohol, you can get rat arsed afterwards that dont matter ๐Ÿ˜‰

the main thing is to go along and enjoy yourself, the pain aint as bad as you are worrying about

That was actually going to be my next topic “do I eat and or drink (non alcoholic) before a tattoo” so you’ve savedd me there! ๐Ÿ˜€

I constantly eat anyway so no worries about that but why the coca cola ? to bring your blood sugar levels up with losing blood ?

Pain killers didn’t even cross my mind but I wont, im tempted by the numbing cream though.

And I don’t drink with training so that is no problems again ๐Ÿ™‚

I know I may be stating the obvious here but why not go back to the shop?

I would seriously think about it, althought I know NOTHING about tattoo’s I do on the other hand know about the human body and people say “you start filling out between 18 and 24” and honestly does happen….since I can remember i’ve already been around 60-65kg but the past year or so i’ve sloooowly creeped up and im now 75kg and im still training as hard as ever to try lose this weight but I just simply can’t because its not excess fat its my actual body growing.

If you did want something try getting it on your stomach as unless your planning on getting a beer belly anytime soon, your stomach doesn’t really grew/stretch as much as say your chest/legs/arms as you grow older unless you get a significant growth spurt.

Went to check out your albums to see what YOU have. Hmmm. No albums. Nothing. Seems if you join a tattoo forum, you should have something to show…right?

Wrong. Althought I agree with the rest of your post and your post before I don’t agree with having something to show because he has joined a tattoo forum.

I only joined recently but have nothing to show, I came here for advice for my 1st tattoo.

My first thoughts are get a few pictures of either athletes in pose or anatomy drawings in a similar style so that the tattoo artist can get a more life-like muscular-structure.

I was thinking the same aswell, I even contemplated joining a bodybuilding forum as I know they love showing themselves off so no doubt they’d be well up for it

I would also suggest tilting the head slightly to one side to allow for the face to be seen but also in part shadow – so one side will be lit up by lightening and the other is kept in the darkness.

You also have to decide whether you want hair or not which will massively effect the skull positioning.

I think that is going into a bit too much detail, i’m not sure what to do with the head yet, may not even end up human! (wolf?)

Hands – Notoriously difficult to draw for many artists (even many classical painters struggled) I would possibly suggest gauntlets of some type.

I’m thinking of boxing gloves?

The tattoo itself is going to have to be quite large to get all the detail and then allow space for the writing so does not become blurred beyond recognition.

I’m also thinking of chaning it from my chest…to my back…then have the lighting and stuff coming either around my side or up & over my shoulder??

Thanks again for all your comments! I am taking note and will all be thought about in the final design!

Thanks, and no bother about not helping..I wish I could help myself! lol, but my talent can only stretch so far…and even when i’m done on the P.C im still going to print it out and take it down to the tattoo shop and no doubt they will change it again.

By the way the writing on the shorts all means something to me so can be moved/changed…but it must still say “White Mike” and ” HH ABC” somewhere….

Honestly, I find that funny. you guys live with pain. You work out until your muscles scream. You beat each other to a bloody pulp, then you get sqeamish over a four hour tattoo? Dude, I’ve tattooed women longer than that. Not just women, but…like, housewives who don’t work, don’t fight, don’t work out. They hang kids off their hip and cook and clean all day, and they can take it while talking on a phone and cracking jokes. I had one of those gals fall asleep on me while I was tattooing on her back!

Then you get the big bad biker, or the boxer, you know the real tough guy with the real tough guy image, and their like…I dunno if I can take it.

Ha!

Give me a break.

I’ve never once gave it the tough guy image, just because I box doesn’;t mean I enjoy the pain…you never get used to being smacked in the face…you clearly have got no idea about the aspect of boxing….to hit and not be hit…

Thanks all the same for your comment.

I finished some work on a Golden gloves boxer here a while back. He also does Cage fights and trains daily. My advice was to stay out of the ring, sparring or otherwise for a week. Do no excercises the following two days, then keep his excercising to non contact, ie. running hitting the bag, shadow boxing, push ups, sit ups, ect. After every work out cleanse the tattoo thouroughly. shower, clean it, dry it, then put something on it to keep it moist.

You can go back to boxing in a week. If the tattoo is extensive grit your teeth and sit through it til its finished. I just finished a four hour sitting on a guys back. I cover a lot of ground in 4 hours. Yeah it hurts, but hell, you get beat up for a living, what’s a little more pain? That way you only need to sit out once.

I think this may be my bext option, get it done on friday, leave it till monday and then when I get back…no contact until the following monday ??

If I could stand the pain I would do it in 1 sitting, but it’s my 1st tattoo so I have no idea how i’m going to cope:D

The tatto is going to be on my left shoulder coming down to my chest so they aren’t exactly the main target zones but my shoudlers come in handy when blocking….what if I just missed out on sparring for a week would I still be able to do just physical exercise…pushups…sit ups…punching the bag etc. etc. ?

But I actually LOL’ed at first, reading that as him being told to get a tattoo of a turtle, the most sports-related of all the animals.

Hi and welcome

Turtles make great tatts the other animalistic tattoo came to mind was wolf, bear, or bull. All of these have varying types of strength and power.

That said there are hundreds of possibilities we just need to know;

Style: Fantasy, Portrait, Bio-Mech, Animal, Religious etc

Black n shade or colour?

Size small to body suit?

Get back to us and I am sure we can throw a few in there.

Take Care
Matthew

I like the idea of the wolf, the style I am after will be some form of picture with aztec/tribal/patterns around it maybe lighting etc. so will be both colour and black and shade.

As far as getting back…what I am trying to do now is put together a little sketch on Photoshop then going to ask for all your advice on where to go next and see if you’s have any more ideas I hope that’s alright:D
