If sagging ink is all I have to worry about at the age of 80….Im doing good. Im more worried about things like bladder control and the ole’ heart. haha
Vasiline for the first day or two….then I switch to an uncented lotion. Everyone skin is different, so as long as you arent picking off scabs, and putting to much lube on that its soaking in causing the scabs to fester up…..and not putting on anything harsh, you will be good. I wash mine a couple of times a day. Just taking dial antibacterial and applying to my hand, and gently washing it down, and dont get a towel and rub it dry, PAT IT DRY!
Good Luck
Thats why we consult, take a down payment (that goes towars the work) then draw. People are to flakey to work off of the fact they “really” want it.
Impressive!! About how many hours do you have in, and over what time span?
Yea, I havent really tought about it much untill recently. People calling saying they need to set an appointment to come in and work on a sleeve design…then when they get there, it a large shoulder piece, or a piece on the underside of the forearm. I just try to explain its not that it stretches from point to point, but has to “engulf” the area.
Man, that looks real nice. Post some pics when you get some color in there and keep us updated. Also, I like the swallow idea in there as well to finish it off.
In regards to your question frankiedux – you haven’t said what style, size etc etc personally I’d start looking at something on google searches or the gallery to get ideas
Forum ettiquite is on the main page. An introduction is only the proper thing to do before asking for favors.
Swing by a book store. You can find lots of traditional dragons in books in the art section. Scour the web, they arent hard to come by really.
You have a general idea…and the rest is up to you. So like you said in your post, get motivated and pick it out. Someone cant choose a language and saying FOR you.
You need to study up on it a bit….thats the best advice you are going to get.
With the Skin Candy UV white, you can see it a little bit with out the blacklight. Its very light, like the discoloration of a light scar. But hey, if your hanging out in a room with blacklights….You will be the coolest!
Skin Candy has a youtube demo out there with them using the ink if you want to search it out.
Really like the design on your left forearm. Looks good man. You working on filling both arms up at once? I would love to get that much work done, and I work in a shop!!
Keep the thread updated with the progress….Congrats on owning some really nice ink.
A half sleeve should be inked all the way around indeed. As of right now, you have a nice dragon tattoo on your arm…..not a half sleeve.

Id say from the looks of it, and shape….your artist should be able to make the first pic work for you. CAts head would cover a bulk of the “body”….and the roses can cover the “butt and the head” of the two…..Critters.
Good luck on the Cover.
Well of course you will be swollen and bruised. I think people kinda of lose focus on what the tattoo machine is actually doing to you, weather you feel pain at the time or not. If you go to the doctor and get a little shot, you most of the time have a bruise the following day, and are tender in that area. Think, or TRY to imagine how many times you were poked, with MULTIPLE needles over the course of those hours.
You are going to bruise, its will be hot….Kinda feel like a fever. But worsly, if you bled alot, you probably will have to sit and do a good bit of touch up on a arm that had that much done in one sitting.
Kinda weird he gave you pills for swelling, I would say. But my advice is, keep it lubed with some unscented lotion, and wrap it in a cling wrap that you use to cover bowls and stuff in the kitchen. Like some Glad wrap. This will hole the moisture in, and keep it from scabbing over much. Especially around the elbow, where you bend alot.
Good luck with it……And post some pictures.
