the standard needle gauge is 18g for lobes, 22g for nostrils. just fyi. 16g, maybe. but not 14g. standard posts are 18g.
That is a nice tattoo. And so the jealousy arises. :]
We all have our regrets and they’re nothing to be ashamed of. However, laser treatments are indeed the weak man’s way out. What you have done is what you’ve done, and especially in your case, I think it would be better to keep your tattoo. Finish it, respect the art of the man who gave it to you. You messed up in your own view, that’s fine. Your mother, depend on who she is, may or may not forgive you, and that’s going to be the price you pay for it. Don’t worry so much about it in life. Love your ink, it’s become apart of who you are.
Here I go.
Tattoos: not under eighteen, even with consent. Tattoos, more so then piercings, need to be thought out. Use those younger years for the planning, because I know you’re going to change your mind at least one. Or improve upon it. Why fill up space so quick? Besides, this way you can keep you’re tattoo looking better for a few more later years. I’ve never felt right about tattoos under eighteen.
Piercings: lobes, whenever. It’s such an acceptable thing that it doesn’t even need a discussion. I’ve seen babies with their ears pierced, and it’s never stirred emotion in me. The nose piercing is debatable, anyone think to wonder if it was a cultural move? If a piercing has significance behind it for the persons culture, then by all means, I’d much rather they get it professionally done. If you just want to shove a needle through your kid’s nose just because, no. Generally I see sixteen as a good age for consent. As long as it’s not a genitalia piercing / dermal / demi-permanent. Parental consent, iffy.
As for the piercer that pierced the fourteen year olds genitals? Stupid, stupid, stupid. Deserving of a statutory rape charge? No. Taking his license (if he even had one)? Yes. Banning him? Maybe. Fake i.d. perhaps? In that case the little bugger should be in juvie for screwing with people’s lives. It all depends on the level of awareness.
We’d be happy to see it. I really don’t think there is anything anyone is going to say about you posting a pic of a piercing you did yourself. Maybe give you shit for doing it yourself, and yes, for getting pierced with a gun. (Hun, Claires is nothing to brag about in the piercing world, actually, I’d keep that as quiet as I could.) But this place is for sharing what you have and opinions on it. Post it. Worst thing? People give you shit or it’s removed. No biggie.
While you’re healing emu oil it. Make sure it’s not an open wound, but it’ll help to soften and eradicate the scar tissue when it is.
Oh, and never pierce yourself. It never ends well, besides, it’s great to help out your community. Piercers need a living too.
Last thing – kolopiercing.com offers some great looking silicone flesh colored plugs (cheap too!). It depends on your body, but 7/16s tend to look normal when you fill them with these. Personally I hate wearing anything other then wood, bone, or stone, but they’re great to have when you need to look a bit more polished.
It really depends on your body’s healing ability and the length of time you have had them in. Right now I have 1/2” in, but I’ve shrunk twice in my stretching career and gone up to 3/4”. The first time I shrunk I had gone to 00, and I let them back down to about 6s. They looked fine then, and I’m sure they would have gone down further, but I decided to go back up. That was having them in for roughly six months at that size. The second time, I had just gone up to 1/2”, and they went down to 2s in the course of three or four months. At that point, I’d had the 7/16” in for about a year right before going up. Now, for me, my ears will never go back all the way. I’ve now had 1/2” for about six months.
So.
From 18 – 00 took me ~ a year
Shrink time to 6 ~ month or two
From 6 – 1/2s ~ two months
Shrink time to 2s ~ three or four months
From 2s to 3/4s ~ three or four months
*Definitely take stretching slow, blowouts are not fun, healthy, or pretty. The only reason there’s such quick timing on some of those is because once you start, the flesh becomes more flexible and it’s easier to bring back up.
I had a friend who went from 1/2s she had in for a year and a half go down to some decent looking 8s, but mind you the lines and stretchmarks are always going to be noticeable. Generally, the longer you have them, the longer it’s going to take and the worse the results when you decide to shrink. A year is about the limit for indecision. 00 tends to be the maximum for people who decide to try and go back to 18s. Stretching up right before you shrink tends to speed up the shrinking process, and every time they slow, try going up again. Oil, especially emu, helps heal the tissue if you have any scarring, which definitely hinders, or even makes impossible, shrinking.
So if there’s anything else, let me know.
These are the 1/2s I’m currently at. They look smaller, but they’re 1/2s. Baltic amber… man I love these plugs.
Sorry about the shitty pic. That’s what you get for owning a mac.
I dare you.
…….. bwhahahahahahahaha.
I didn’t catch that.
I am, in fact, a little girlie. Kinda thought the angry guy thing might hint towards that, hahaha.
I’m just in it for that art though. Money is just a nice contribution.
I’m actually really glad you posted those pics, I’m getting nearly the identical thing done in the next few weeks. (If my paycheck permits… which it won’t. So in my pipe dream anyway.) Both tragus, and a triple helix. I’m probably going to end up getting helix spaced a little farther and with cbr though.
Yours are really good looking though, thinking about adding anything else?
Like the pinup, those are always fun. You lucky man, to be living close to Fakir.
