No. It’s the TV program where people risk their body for entertainment.

This stupid fucking rant is no different than people attacking different genres of music. For instance I think pop music sucks donkey dick and is talentless, but there are people who enjoy it. I may not understand that, but it’s my choice to walk away from it while others flock to the likes of Justin Bieber.
A tattoo is art regardless of it’s…[Read more]

This is probably a stupid question, but when it comes to adding onto a tattoo (which I am still assuming is termed a coverup), should I be looking for an artist that is a known specialist in doing coverups as opposed to finding an artists that says they will but may be more of an original artist?

Once I completed my second, I was driving home content. I always planned for two, now I had two – done. Until I get home and show my wife. She plants the seed to add to my first to make it bigger and to pop more so it’s in line with the second (size/color/depth). So the search begins to find someone to do the add-on. It won’t be a third one, but…[Read more]

Russ Abbott emailed me back. Said doing coverups really isn’t his thing. He would schedule me for a new tattoo when he guest spots at Off The Map next year, but I really am not looking for a new one, just an addition to the eagle. I can see where an artist wouldn’t want to coverup a tattoo he/she didn’t work on as then it wouldn’t be their…[Read more]

As with Arni, my list is close to 50,000 songs, mostly metal. Other than stating Opeth is my favorite band, here are 16 songs that get lots of playing time with me:
Opeth – Ghost of Perdition
Heathen – Fade Away
Hostage to Heaven – Grip Inc
Hatred’s Rise – Testament
Y Draig Goch – Hollenthon
Deathamphetamine – Exodus

LOL! That’s honestly the only “I told you so!” line we LIKE telling people 😀
I’m lucky though. Seeing as I’m flat silly broke and tattoos here cost bazillions, I am automatically saved from being stuck in that infinite loop 🙂
Took Step #1. Emailed Russ Abbott who will be guesting next July at Off The Map only 2 hours from me.

Well, you can’t have it both ways. Either you get it all fixed up (which would be a cover-up, and would require an extremely good artist) or you stick with the old one 😀
I guess that journey is beginning then to see where this goes. You get one, then two, then want to play with the first one. All of those “once you get…[Read more]

Well, anything you get from the original artist is going to look just as weak with regards to color depth, detail, etc. You can make it bigger, for sure, but the rest won’t change.
So my initial thought of new artist is seeming like the way to go, and one of the reasons being just what you mentioned.

If you want to add to it in the same caliber of ‘fine’, you can go to the same artist.
If not, you need to treat it as a cover-up, and you need a spectacularly good cover-up artist to transform it into something great.Well, when the non-tattoo loving wife brought this up, in her eyes Gunnar’s piece pretty much crushes the eagle. And what she…[Read more]

Now having two (I’m multi-tattooed now), without question my new Gunnar piece.
The why is easy – because I planned it properly, it was spawned from my own drawings of 30 years ago, I gave Gunnar full artistic freedom so it’s really his work from my concept witthout my artistic intervention, and I think it came out awesome.

do you really care what others think?
Yes, I do care what others think. However, others is a very subjective term. For example; I can care about what my family thinks, while not caring about what this tattoo community thinks.I am passionate about my tattoo, and appear to care about other’s opinions too much here, but in reality it is just the…[Read more]

First of all, your skin needs to be thick here :p
If you like your tattoo (which it seems that you do), do you really care what others think? I loved my 1st WAY more than it may have deserved, but it was mine and meant sometyhing to me. I think I was reminded about that lots of times, and since then I have learned a lot more about tattoos, tattoo…[Read more]

Just having my 2nd one done, I was given the same aftercare instructions as the one I got 1.5 years ago from a different shop. First day is dry with no lotion, the next 3-4 days I wash the tattoo and use Aquafor, and then I switch to Lubriderm.

Last night Gunnar’s piece had it’s first public showing at my local watering hole. Several people knew I was getting one and they were there last night, so they asked to see it.
In short, my eagle gets “nice tattoo” comments with undertones of “like thousand of others I see”. Last night I got “I’ve never seen anything like that before” and lots…[Read more]
