Hip Hop is honesty, integrity, and respect
But Jay-Z, 50 Cent are Hip Hop in my opinion…. They are two talented and smart street dudes who rose up from the conditions they were placed in and made a successful living off this music and business
Hip Hop is not about a beef, never.
Hip Hop is not merely for the Underground… It is a form of poetry placed in Musical form that is to be embraced by those who can relate.
Hip Hop is not always about an expression of urban culture directed at oppressed masses(It can be that, but it is also a way for people to express their feelings, emotions, and tell their stories of life in musical form.
Hip Hop is not a business that caters to the rich(Jay and 50 spit mostly for the hood, but rich people and white folks tend to love their music, how is that their fault?)
Hip Hop is about loyalty…. standing by the artists you identify with and respect… But it’s also about separating your favorite artists from the person that they really are… Everybody has the right to privacy(I think Nas is dumb for marrying a h*e like Kelis, but that’s my n*gga either way man)..
Hip Hop is a lot of things, but one thing it is not is close minded… Open your mind dude…
If every artist rapped the same, Hip Hop would have been completely gone from the face of the earth… We need artists like Boosie and Webbie to drop what they make, so that when an artist like Nas or Common drops that we appreciate the quality material more than we would if every artist was spitting the same…
Plus, GAME is not Hip Hop(he does everything you says Hip Hop is not as opposed to 50 and Jay, who actually finish beefs… it’s not their fault that rappers they defeat in beefs dont know when to stop)
1. Dont know
2. Can’t Remember
3. New Jersey(Brick City)…
4. I can’t remember… I know he made his first verse on Live at the BBQ
5. Children of The Corn
6. Nas, AZ, Cormega, and Foxy Brown
7. Simon Says
8. Kool Keith.. that’s all that matters lol
9. Eminem, 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, and 50 Cent(MC Hammer appiles too)
10. Diggin In The Crates(RIP Big L, die Fat Joe… damn u Diamond D)
Really, there is no real answer to this question….
We have different tastes and I am a fan of rock, but I am a rapper myself, or rather a Hip Hop artist…
I have been a big Hip Hop fan since I was like 5… But, I do love rock, mostly old school rock(Chicago, Pearl Jam,. Aerosmith, Queen, etc….) but if I had a choice to state my opinion…. of course I’d say Rap is better, but I like Rock as well… It’s my third favorite genre of music(behind Hip Hop and R & B)
