I agree with what’s already been said. Nothing about your healing tattoo sounds like sufficient cause for concern. Don’t stress!
Snerkler has got the right idea. ((nods)) You should definitely have an art concept in mind when you visit the tattoo shop. Whether you’ve got an existing design that needs tweaking or an idea that needs professional sculpting, your tattoo artist should be happy to help. Some of my favorite tatts were sketched on the fly by a very talented tattoo guy who listened to my ideas and used his skills to bring them to life! =]
My step-sister has a little kanji tattoo on her ear… like, up in the area where you’d get a cartilage piercing. The back of your lobe may be more difficult to reach and keep stable during the actual tattooing, but I’d guess that it is entirely possible. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. :]
I agree with what’s already been said. ((nods)) Definitely see if the artist has an album you can check out. =]
Hmm… I am interested to see what the tattoo looks like in its current state. Please describe it in a bit more detail or post a picture! I’m sure you’ll be able to get some worthwhile advice from the people here. =]
“Supermarket Defends Refusal to Make Hitler Cake” is my favorite. Such silliness. *shakes head* =P Great idea for a super entertaining thread, yo. Keep up the good work.
Hiya! Nice to meet you. Thanks for sharing some pics of your ink with us. :] Welcome aboard!
Greetings and salutations, George! Welcome aboard.
Hiya, Dmac. Nice to meet you. ^_^ We’re definitely on the same page, musically speaking. Gotta love those bumpin’ techno beats. W00t!
Aww! You’re losing your tattoo virginity, and I’m totally excited about it. ;] Have a friend snap some pictures during the session, maybe? It’s eye candy for your photo album, bro, just sayin’. n_n
My tattoo guy always tells me that I need to wait “at least a few weeks” between sittings for the same area. I’d say give it a month or so to settle down and then consult your artist in regard to a touch up — which, by the way, should be FREE if the damage and cracking was not your fault. Best of luck! Don’t stress about it too much. =]

Hey, Felicity! Welcome. :] Rest assured that you are definitely not the only person in this world who is desperately longing for a cover-up, heh. It happens! ^.^
