Fierce looking dragon behind the two subjects maybe intertwined a little but colored light black and grey as not to draw attention away from the two subjects which will be colored I assume.
The light black and grey dragon would give it a “there but not really there kind of mystical look”.

Also depends if you ultimately wish to end up with a full sleeve later on down the track. I believe good planing and especially the mapping out of tattoos when considering a sleeve is important.
Especially if your getting the odd one here and there.

Just my 2 cents.

I would black the initial design and darken the existing ones. Back it with fauna and flora, have a few leaves and petals over lapping the initial design here and there so it looks a little intertwined. Lots of greens, some bright colours. Dont intrude on the existing tattoos too much, leave some white space around the existing ones as the initial design wraps around them nicely.
This will give it a nice balance, good contrast and overall pleasing to the eyes.

It may work with straight B&G if your not a big fan of colour.
Only a professional would pull this one off, so choose your artist carefully.
Just my 2 cents…

I totaly agree with you on the combination thing Poesy, sorry if i dug a little to deep on my last post.
Any who, Ive always wanted a reaper opposing an angel type backpiece, covering whole back and top quality work of course. Does this mean I believe in dragons demons and the boogy man. No it just depicts the balance of good-evil, light-dark to me.

As long as we’re happy with our piece thats all that matters. If it has meaning to you, well good. If your drawing blanks when you look at it, no problem, if the aesthetics and overall feel of the design works for you…. «:::P:::» «:::E:::» «:::R:::» «:::F:::» «:::E:::» «:::C:::» «:::T:::»

Hi guys,
Being of Maori decent, I naturally have strong opinions on this topic…
Ta Moko-to strike or tap/tattoo is nothing but meaning to my people, we had no written language. Our history was recorded through song, carving and Ta Moko/tattoo. Tattoo identified you, told you your rank in the pecking order, genealogy, tribe you belonged to right down to the job you held.

It is not until now that I am able to interpret most of these works. What you see on youtube, worn by celebrities is only “kirituhi”-generic surface decoration. 20 years from now I will bear a full facial Moko complete with in-depth meaning- I dont know about all dem sticks, stones and bones though. machine for me thank you very much.

I’m not against people wearing these designs, I am expressing to you what tattoo means to me.
By the way if your on the fence weather to go tribal or Maori…. go Maori, I’ll even draw up the design for you.
And if you want it to come with in-depth meaning… well you’ll have to marry my sister!

You have a good one guys

Hi Steve,
My names Rik aka My2centz. So hows things going over the ditch..
Keeping those tattoos out of the Australian sun I hope, especially if you got any fresh ones.
Man! what does the Australian sun do to tattoos after 20 years exposure.
Surely your earlier ones must need a touch up by now. At least you wont need to worry about the stencil coming of if ya decided to get the lines laid down again.

I’m keen to get some B&G portraits done, but man do they cost an arm and a leg.
Well Id rather pay top dollar for a killer piece, than pay peanuts and get a monkey.

Oh well just thought I’d drop in and say high since we’re both noobs here.
You have a good one mate!
