Personally I’d laser, cover or both.
I can’t imagine that any artist will be able to make it look good without altering it so much that it will lose any original meaning anyway.
But, I’m speaking with no experience of laser of cover-ups.

The second pic was taken at home under natural daylight with a camera instead of a phone. The Blues have come out a little more intense than they actually are but it’s pretty close
