Thanks for all your input guys!
To be honest I’m not going with dry wraping, but i’ll keep it in mind for future tattoos. Just by researching on the internet I see that even tattoo studios recomend things that other studios say you should not do etc.
For this first one i’ll stick to what my tattoo guy has told me. I took of the plastic wraping 8 hours after the session, cleaned only with water and i’m aplying a cream on it every few hours, not to over do it but not to let it dry either. I’m gonna drop by the shop today and check with him and all.
As for swiming, exposing the tatto to sun and all that, I would never do it in the first weeks of a new tattoo. No reason to… I can enjoy swiming and sun all year round, and I still don’t, so why once I got a new tattoo?
oh, ok I see what you mean.
Is that wraping with bandage?
it’s on the arm, as high as you can go.
My tattoo artists told me to get rid of the plastic he wraped it with after 6 to 8 hours, and then let it breathe (therefore no covering).
Hmm… I don’t see any answer about the tissue traume being able to get me an infection… Before yours that is. And that’s why I asked. Still, there was more i’d like to know, but google seems to be more effective that asking in a forum.
And again, i didn’t ask about self-piercing because I wanna do it. I just wanted to know about how people don’t traumatize any nerves or other vital stuff. A video, by a professional piercer, on youtube pretty much answered my questions.
And for a last question, before I go get the piercing, if you don’t find it offensive!
I’ve asked for a price at 3 studios, the price being very different in every shop… I suppose the one is just being expensive due to a good reputation and being the oldest around here (and maybe due to good relations have a lot of work with tourists), the other one is a little pricy, don’t know why, and that last one seems (to me) to have a logical price. They all have clean shops, sterilize their equipment, open the needle in my presence, throw it once we are done, had no issues in showing, explaining and talking about anything i asked.
Any reason not to go for the chepest of the three?
No need to be grumpy…!
You know, funny story… All my life, whatever I got involved with, I always heard that “there are no stupid questions”… It’s always good to ask questions in order to learn…
But I suppose this doesn’ apply here… I should not learn more, or why things are as is I suppose… I should just take the advice and not mind to wonder about stuff…
And I wonder where you saw any attitude… Wanting to understand stuff is now attitude?
I’ve got some very nice advice indeed…. So I don’t get why you have to start yelling about infections and stuff, while i just asked what the difference is… I’m not a nurse you see, nor a doctor or a piercer… I don’t have any fucking anatomy or other health related knowledge… Is it so bad I just ask? Is it so bad i want to know why something is better that just know it is better?…
I couldn’t just learn that starting bigger and winding up smaller would prevent a blowout, I should have just what jerryatrophy nicely told me, or get yelled at beacause i want to learn more… Nice attidute!
And please read again, I’m not gonna put a needle in myself, I’m not stupid enough…! Like before, just being curious is propably a bad mistake…
So… I suppose that kind of info should not be on a forum…
anyway, I’ve decided to get my ear pierced. Anything I should keep in mind while choosing a shop? Is there anything that can be different?
And for the aftercare, anything i should take special notice of? Or just follow whatever the piercer tells me?
Just don’t get any pinstripe fires!
I think something burning, like the skull on the tat buttwheat posted, is a nice idea.

What is myspace? and why would anyone still be on it?
Is this your way to judge a professional?…
C’mon man… You can even see it’s tottaly inactive… (As is most myspace profiles)…
Now this was too much at once… Give me a sec…
While getting a piercing done, why should i wory about traumatizing the tissue? I do traumatize it anyway, and it will need some time and care to heal.
And why should i go large and then smaller? Is it something thas has to do with good healing?
The dermal punch does not seem like anything i would want to get! And the hollow needle looks a little to big for my taste.
I also have one more question, dont wory i’m not thinking about it, i’ve just heard it a lot lately. So, some have told me not to pay that much money, and just get needle from a drug store and do it myself or have a friend do it.
Of course I’m not willing to do that. But, having in mind non-professionals do it with a gun, and a lot of kids with needles on them self, having no knowledge, how do all these “get away with it” with no trouble?
I just don’t feel like it… It’s not the way i imagined it… Weired or not, i like the simpler tattoos…
Why can’t you play your epiphone? Just started or never had?
I’ve looked at that, and the guys on there are totally wicked artists! But they do tattoos that are very realistic, colorfull, detailed etc. Great and all, but i don’t want such a detail and color on this one.
For the Viking face I want, or for the portrait of my dog, I’d make sure to make an appoinment with one of those. But for a little bee, that I don’t want to be detailed? Is suppose this guys wouldn’t even agree to tatto me with such a “poor” tattoo. I’d be bad name for them…
That’s things i can’t see…
The koala for instance, is not my taste, but i wouldn’t describe it as non-good. Seems like good towards very good to me…!
I propably need to train my eye somehow…
In the meanwhile, I visited a tattoo shop in the area… I told him i want something not very big or very small, but i want it to be as detailed and good worked as possible. He told me it would propably be around 100€.
Now.. that consernse me… I mean, sure, i like saving some money, but ain’t that a little too low? For any tatto… No matter how small or easy or anything?…!
I don’t like drinking and smoking at the same time… I feel like the one ruins the taste of the other.
