Thanks guys, bare in mind these are pictures taken straight after the sittings, so the colour really looks quite different now, not so “dirty”

butterfly, as i said thats only in my experience.. i cant go on anything other than that. i was going to add to my message “dont take offence any tattooist on here” as im sure most have only had pleasant experiences with them such as yourself – i didn’t feel anyone would take my comments so seriously, im a bastard in my own ways

to be honest, in my experience, tattooists can be a bit of a law unto themselves. im not sure of the percentages but im pretty sure your more likely to experience a kind of underhand, backward snobbery in a tattoo parlour than you are in a hair salon, whether its a good one or not.

these guys are artists. they are tempremental. they are in demand.. whats more, they know it. they can afford to be wankers now and again.. truth is, i find it strangely refreshing.

its a difficult process finding a good artist on a good day – but in the end it will be worth it. just keep plugging away mate. if moneys not an issue, and you dont mind waiting there are loads of great artists around the uk that should be worth the travel fare.

hello mate, im in much the same boat, and the key i think is to get out there and chat to as many artists as possible locally, im sure you have a wide selection, living in london and all. evil from the needle in camden is supposedly awesome, google them if you’re interested.

but yeh, anyone worth bothering with will be more than happy to sit down and spend some time going through what they think looks good from an artistic position and then will run it by you to see if you have any thoughts. bit tattoos mean big wonga for tattooist so im sure they’ll be friendly enough 😉

good luck pal

how anyone could buy into the “getting a tattoo means gods gonna be mad” philosophy just seems unreal to me.

hey guys n girls,

have been giving it some more thought and im wondering about whether this could work as part of a lower leg peice? the 3/4 sleeve is something i am definately into , although my work situation means i have to be a little careful. im in employment now, and i could probably get away with it, seeing as my work is fairly casual. the only thing is im using this job as a stop-gap to save up and travel. when i come back i want to get back to seriously finding a career. a large, visible tattoo down the forearm could affect that..

i’ll give it some more thought as i really love the design. just wondering what you guys thought of incorperating into a tattoo covering the leg from the knee down, as a less visible option, also if you had any ideas on what other tattoos would go well with this type of peice.

peace x

I’m an Atheist simply because it appears every religion has a few really compelling stories, weighed down by countless ridiculous impossible to believe stories. I’ve never seen any deity worshipping religion that wasn’t heavily founded through hatred, intolerance or a need for control by it’s writers. Besides, if that means I’ll go to hell so be it. I’d rather be where I actually know someone if I’m to be there that long. I’d have too many issues with the boss to go to heaven, there’s a lot of resentment I’d have towardes someone who seems to be such an absentee father as him.

excactly right.

mate, hypocrisy is all over the holy books and the subscribers to them.. its a human trait, embrace it and do what you think you should do. you’re gonna be wrong in someones eyes.

hey
thanks for replying

heres what im getting done:

http://vikingtattoo.deviantart.com/art/Dagger-skulls-Flowers-Outline-108845349

i want it to be the focal point in a 3/4 sleeve, mostly old school, so a fluent looking tattoo.

I actually went into another tattooist (recently opened) near me today, and had a chat with an artist in there who seemed really interested in doing the design – been tattooing for 15 years, said hed take the design and add some colours, make some small adjustments and to come back monday and see what i thought – probably B & W shaded for the dagger and skulls – with some highlighting colours on the flowers and the handle. sounded cool.

first impressions, really interested in my design which was nice, and obviously had alot of knowledge behind him.

on the downside, he didn’t have his portfolio on him – showed me some stuff hed done himself on his legs it looked mega… will be interesting to see what his take on the design is.

sorry for waffling – its what i do

peace x

P.S – Sherav, that was exactly the place i was talking about actually 🙂

I saw a chaps sleeve on here who got it done from evil from the neeedle and it looked awesome. also have checked out their online portfolio and it was good.

any idea on the individual tattooist there?

youre right of course, but i aint got a digital camera.

since you asked yeh, it’s pretty much all i’ve though about since getting my first one! im cautious of rushing into something though.

it kinda feels like my mind just needs to have some time off from tattoos and think about something else before i can make a decision with any kind of objective clarity.

that said, i’m swimming with ideas, and that’s part of the reason i’m here 🙂 hopefully i can find some inner peace and quiet

Welcome to the forum. You could try to make you own album on here, and then use the link to that in the thread.

thanks injun – i put a picture in my album (after some confusion!), eventually to find the picture size isn’t great and you cant see the tattoo clearly.

Oh well…
