Hey, I’ve also been thinking of that idea… except I didn’t think of having it wrap around… sounds cool, maybe have the chain of a pocket watch wrap around! The pocket watch I have in mind shows the inside gears, too. If either of you have a pic/drawing, I’d love to see it. Can you inbox it to me or post it?

Thanks!

I have wondered similarly… I think I’d feel comfortable sitting down with an artist to just talk about ideas and stuff. Is it commonplace to do so? Are artists usually open to having a “meeting” to see what he/she might be able to do and suggest before making an appointment?

That’s a good question. I’ve often wondered if I could go to an artist w/ some separate pics that could possibly be incorporated into on tat. Interested in reading comments you get.

I believe he means just what he says… that he thinks that it would look cool like it was coming out of the skin. I am sure you have seen such tattoos, where things are ripping out of the skin.

Ahh, yeah, I have seen tats like that, but not sure if i like them or how it would look as a sword like that. Think it would be do-able w/ a sword?

i think both are a cool idea but if you were to get that i agree with the problem with the width on the dragon, i’m kinda macabre though so when i think Excalibur i see it with a little realistic look of it coming out of the skin somehow same with the dragon. That would give you a chance to have it without the worry of the width. Probably be a little cooler with the dragon though.

What do you mean “coming out of the skin”? And I’m thinking of the dragon on one leg and the sword on the other.

I agree with ArniVidar. However, I am a bit apprehensive about Intenze inks or any other plastic-based inks. My wife has a tat done almost entirely with Intenze and it just feels strange – it’s like a plastic plate in her leg. That said, I wouldn’t necessarily not get work done if some kick ass artist was using Intenze.

Is that something that’s common in certain shops or areas? never heard of it before. Would a shop only use that or offer it as an alternative?

Getting a band tat is highly risky. 1. That band will prob not be around for the longrun. 2. I always think “What happens if that band changes. Some bands totally shift their music. I wouldn’t get a band, cuz let’s say the lead singer turns out to be a douche bag… Feel sorry for anyone who might have gotten a Limp Bizkit tat back in the day LOL

Well just because you are happy you waited doesn’t mean everybody else is. I just think she is not ready for a tattoo because he/she has no clue on what they want. If somebody wants a tattoo enough they should get it if there 18 or 80. I am 18 and currently have 8 tattoo’s including my knuckles done and i know people say i can’t say this now but i honestly will not regret my ink because i really don’t care haha i have a don’t give a fuck attitude.

But you should wait until you want something properly and have wanted it for a while before doing so.

I think that’s awesome that you have the “I don’t give fuck attitude”. Honestly, I have always wished I had that tude. But, in my mind, i think, “what happens when I need a job and jobs are scarce and I’m needing to survive for food and other basic needs when the job market is very competitive and I’m tired of making minimum wage and want a better paying job, but they don’t allow tattoos and that’s gonna be the reason they don’t hire me cuz I can’t cover up my tats. Will I give a fuck then?”

I’m not being sarcastic at all. Man, that’s just what goes through my mind. Again, I wish it didn’t. I sometimes think that I”m “giving a fuck” too much. LOL.

I saw another island country tat before and really didn’t know what it was…looked like a bunch of spots to me; however, someone else on the forum had recognized it right away and commented, thats the only way I knew what I was looking at.

Like it was said earlier, if you’re from that country, it will look like something. And since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, will people from the Philippines be seeing it? or will you have a bunch of ppl asking what it is?

Just something to think bout.

Just turned 15 and i got a tattoo for the sake of getting a tattoo. But of course because of my age everybody told me to fuck off. My mums friend at work knew this guy who was apparently a tattoo artist and he said he would do it for me in he’s garage. So one day later me and my mum turned up and i picked a stupid tribal because they was trendy at the time and got it. When doing my tattoo he kept stopping every two minutes rolling a cigarette…. Then half way through coloring it in he come’s out with “i need new glasses” because he kept squinting.

3 years on i have scar tissue under the tattoo, All of the tattoo is raised and planning lazer surgery in the future.

I can safely say i take more care in choosing my tattoo’s and get stuff i really like.

saw the tribal in your pics section…not too bad, can’t see scars (at least in that pic). How old is the tribal? What’s the story with the “pooryly finger” tattoo?

It’s really not your job to know anything about the inks, IMO. If the artist is any good, he’ll use good inks.
If a customer came into my shop and started spouting ignorance and demanding ink X in his skin, if I were using ink Y that I knew was good, I’d smack said customer silly 🙂

Don’t get me wrong.. I would never go demanding anything. If at all, I’d only ask what brand inks they use when I check out the place, as long as that wouldn’t go against ettiquette. That’s why I ask on here first cuz I don’t wanna piss people off with ignorance. Always good to find out first and I appreciate ppl’s replies on this forum for that reason.

ink will always fade, no matter what. but there are different quality of inks that stay vibrant longer. this applies to not just black, but all colors.

Do u know which black inks last? Also, would it be okay to inquire about their inks beforehand?

There are two ideas of nothing…

1. Nothing being No matter, just space.

2. Nothing even being devoid of space, dimensions, and time itself.

The second is really difficult for us to imagine.

Anyway… I think the “Exist” you showed and the font are perfect…Just like you! 😉

What other existential ideals to you subscribe to??

I’d love to see the portfolio of the artist who can fit you in before the shore.

Ha.. nah, I didn’t expect to have an appt before. Just confirming that it wouldn’t be a good idea beforehand.

Thanks everyone who posted. I will try not to get much sun, especially on the leg where I want my tat, so I don’t have to wait too long. I suppose it will be a back to school gift to myself! LOL

Cheers!
