For the initial 3-4 days use aquaphor, it helps in the healing process. Afterwards use any aqua-based moisturizer, it will prevent over-scabbing. Do not use Vaseline as it is petroleum based and it will fade out the tat especially in your case as the color of tat is black.

I understand your problem buddy. The thing is that you want a tat to depict your feelings but you have not found an idea yet. I will insist you to take some time and plan your tattoo well as it will remain for the lifetime with you.

Dude if you really want to go for a 3/4 sleeve then you can choose a fire vine tattoo or a tribal one.
