replied to the topic Lip Tattoos in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 12 years, 2 months ago
Hi
I personally don’t have an inner lip but when I was studying tattoos and tattoo culture many ppl I spoke with all stated the same issues from theirs;
The inside lip has softer tissue so that the pigment of the ink tends to blowout much easier leaving the tattoo looking blurred and messy.
It fades very quickly as tissues get a lot more damage…[Read more]

I am all for getting an apprenticeship as you state paper to skin is 2 worlds apart.
Also there are many fine techniques that an artist can show you on machine control, pressure, use of contrast etc that unless shown you will not learn.
If you want to practice on skin then I suggest chicken or pig carcass similar skin depth and also has bone…[Read more]

Hi
The style of tattoo you want is called naive style art (child like drawings).
Check out the Haitian artist Préfète Duffaut for style (or simply look at artists who draw in this style using google images) and then find a tattoo artist and say can you do something similar to this style but showing your idea.
Write the idea down and break it d…[Read more]

Hi Wardy
Nice piece for your nan.
My grandad used to make them as toys when he was a boy/teenager in Russia.I think they are called Matryoshka (nesting) but sometimes ‘babushka’ which meant woman (in traditional sense).
I know that they sometimes used to make them as love gifts to girlfriends or fiance’s (I think because they had no money so…[Read more]

Hi,
First of all I like the tattoo idea and think it will look good with the right font – just make sure you go 12 pt or bigger so it don’t blur out in future.
The ribs it has to be said are a sadist’s playground of pain. 😮
I spent 33 hours on my back and when the artist did the edges of my back ribs I was in serious pain. Frankly it was…[Read more]

Hi Mistress
First of all apologies for not commenting earlier – work and other demands take up far too much of my time and not enough on my hobbies (posting here 🙂 ).
I like your sleeve a lot and think that it is a good mix as not too busy and can really focus in on butterflies and lady birds which set the piece off nicely.
Sometimes less is…[Read more]

Hi Wardy
Whilst I am happy to ‘agree to disagree’ on the matter of conspiracy sources – we are all entitled to our own opinions, I would express concern at citing David Ike as a source.
This guy back in the early-mid 90’s started a turqouise coloured shell suit wearing group of followers and convinced them he was their religious leader and was…[Read more]

Hi Wardy
The simple truth is that most conspiracies are actually very boring ones. By this I mean that it is usually big business and lobby groups sponsored by big business who splash huge sums of cash around for influence, political favours/concessions, cover up of health scares (tobacco industry is a prime example).
Every government in the…[Read more]

replied to the topic Process of sacrification to remove a letter on a tattoo in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 12 years, 5 months ago
Hi
Scarification is the last thing you want to do if you are planning on tattooing over the area again.
They cut away the skin to leave what will form into a deep scar – this can be in the shape of the letter or just a square.
The shape and healing of the scar is not guaranteed as down to individual healing.
However in order to tattoo back…[Read more]

I have had my entire back done and from what i recall the spine does get quite painful.
This is because it is so close to the bone but it is more of a grinding vibration after 15-20 mins.
The kidney area of the lower back does sting a lot. was one of the more painful areas of the back for me.
That said if I can survive it anybody can. 😀
As…[Read more]

There are 2 solutions;
1. You can laser it off and redo it.
2. You can loop the second ‘o’ so that it loops through the first and hangs below in a chain link. Add a halo effect to the ‘o’ and it will work out fine.
Take care

replied to the topic Designing a sleeve. But how? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 12 years, 5 months ago
Hi
The key thing is to know what art you want and where you want them on your arm. Sounds logical I know but a lot of ppl have a habit of swapping ideas and placement around so you have to be certain.
Then decide on what sort of filler (if any) you want in the spaces that is left afterwards.
The artist will measure your arm draw up the piece and…[Read more] -

Hi Wardy
It is a joke as you have put
My tattoo won’t let me pay for any of my tattoo’s
You have put tattoo instead of tattooist so it sounds like your ink has come alive and is controlling you 😀

Depends on the person really.
I was sat in a sauna and a woman spent 5 mins tutting, sighing, and generally making it clear she hated my ink.
When she finally asked why I would get my entire back ‘mutilated’
I advised her that to be taken seriously as a serial killer….
Anyhow she ran out of the sauna by that point.
I was going to add ……[Read more]

I have seen hundreds of skulls, spiders, severed head tattoos etc none of which I would ever like for myself.
That said some of these styles have been mind blowing in their execution and detail.
I have a number of boundaries;
Some art I do not like and would not want (even if it was free). Admittedly quite rare but an example was my local art…[Read more]

As prison drama’s go it is one of the best I have seen – a lot of actors from The Wire.
Well worth watching.

Some nice old school style you have gotten done.
As you say it is about personal taste.
I was seriously tempted by a voodoo doll (with spilled stuffing) pin cushion type tattoo today. Not my usual bag but something about it just kept making me laugh.
Looking forward to seeing the next 2.

Hi
As long as it is a pro shop very little risk as long as the tattoo is well cared for and no picking, scratching, or playing with it.
Things to bear in mind are that the tattoo should be a min of 10 pt in size or larger for clarity.
The wrists and ankles can be used but also consider the shoulder blade or the pectoral (above the breast…[Read more]
