If you want to know what it will look like beforehand go to an artist who will draw it up for you, or as Matthew says look on the internet. The images search on google is a good start.
If you don’t know any artists just find your local tattoo shops and go along for a chat. You will soon get an
idea of who you want to do it, and who has the same ideas as yourself. I’ve made some mistakes in the past and just been tattooed by whoever was available. Well I won’t be doing that again as my last tattoo is very poorly done. It’s made me realise just how important it is to research your artist, not just your design.
I’m interested in how you get on as I’ve just had a tattoo that I’m not happy with, the line work is poor. I raised the issue and the shop owner said he would make it better for me, and to be fair it is better but it’s still not great.
Are you sure that’s a true mirrored image? I’m not 100% sure here but I think that if you look at that in the mirror the letters will be the right way around but it will still read back to front. Take for example an the lettering on the fromt of an ambulance, the letters are still in the same order, but each letter is then indivually mirror imaged ๐ฎ When you have the stencil put on check it in the mirror first before you let that needle anywhere near you
Ignore this, I’m wrong. It is right the way it is in the photo ๐ฎ
I like the idea of having the writing in mirrored image so that you can read it, and haven’t seen this done before.
BUT……

These are two albums I posted where I found pictures on the net. I hope you likey.
Thanks very much, I really like Andy Shou’s work ๐
If you’re unsure, don’t do it. Remember it’s for life.
Others opinions shouldn’t really matter. That’s OK in theory, but the reality is we do listen to others opinions. If you want my two penneth worth I think it looks like a unique take on a heart, rather than a unique take on 23. I would never guess it said 23 in a million years, sorry ๐
Thank you
I don’t know of the legality of it all but I’m pretty sure you could find someone to do it if you really wanted
Aren’t there some strong acupuncture points in that area? It’ll be like having some therapy whilst being tattooed ๐
Yeah I got that thanks :p
That’d be great thanks ๐
Hi,
I really like that quote. My only concern regarding your idea is from how I read what you say you’re gonna have to split the quote up and put it on both sides of your body, which to me would look like 2 seperate tats, therefore 2 separate quotes and would lose some of it’s meaning/impact. Just my opinion ๐

Err which tattoo, I can’t see a picture. I had some lettering done on my wrist 2 weeks ago and it was an absolute doddle to be honest, by far the least painful of any I’ve had so far (have a tribal band on my arm that goes all the way round, one between my shoulder blades, and one on my chest)
Looks sweet, but a bit too feminine for me ๐ Like I said I want more of the tradtional japanese style though.
Would love to see it when it’s finished ๐
As to the issue at hand…
I disagree with the crowd here. I really feel like you need to just shut up. Hell, if you post is any indication of your overall relationship, you may want to just break up with him. I mean, you couldn’t even be bothered to find out why he wants to do this, what the design is, or even really name what his interest is.
On the 24th of this month, I’ll have been with my wife for five years, and let me tell you something: I don’t give a shit about Harry Potter. Seriously. Not one shit. Not even a wet fart.
Yet I can give you the life freaking story of fifth string characters like Walden Macnair and Rabastan Lestrange. Walden’s half troll and it’s common in fannon for him to have a cock that’s a minimum of 14 inches long and has a massive prince albert by the way. It’s about the same size around as a coke can. Also, he’s gay, but in denial about it, so he rapes other men he believes to be gay so as to punish them for being gay.
I can go on, and point to textual evidence.
I know this because my wife is the Harry Potter version of the Trekkie. She talks about it endlessly. I mean, hours every day…and because I care about her, I listen and store facts so I can talk intelligently about *sigh* Harry Fucking Potter.
I make the effort to know this shit because that’s what you do. You meet your partner halfway, and try to understand what their passion is, even if it’s something you simply don’t get.
And when she got her first Harry Potter tattoo, I wasn’t excited. It wasn’t an original design. It was the doodle JKR did for her books as the tattoo all the DeathEaters got. It looks like the idea of a tattoo someone who’s never known anyone with a tattoo has.
But she was passionate about it, so I shut the fuck up and helped her get it.
And compared to her other ink, it *STILL* looks like eight kinds of shit. But she still loves her Dark Mark, which is what matters, so I don’t say nothing ugly about it.
Because, again, that’s what you’re supposed to do for someone you claim to love.
What you’re not supposed to do is make no effort, write it off as stupid, and be an utter bitch about it.
*looks pointedly at Kerdi*
Love. Peace. Metallica.
Do you feel better now ๐
I would suggest getting the design before you go for a couple of reasons. The main one is this way you’ll have put some thought in to what you want and so it’ll be more likely to be a tattoo you really like and won’t regret it in a few years. Secondly it’ll save a lot of time. If you know roughly what you want but can’t find the exact design take some examples with you and the tattooist should be able to draw something up you want.
