thats a neat design, but I think you are right to research and find a style that suits your interests. I do like butterflies although I would be careful because they can be a little cliché, tattoos should be as unique as the person who has them :]. haha to be honest, that’s partially why I got a moth as my first tattoo
Yes, it hurts.
And honestly, I think it hurt worse than getting my tattoo. Plus it’s a pain in the rear because you have to keep it really clean other wise it will get infected and cause a WHOLE other set of problems and even leave you with a deformed ear. If your going to do it, get it PROFESSIONALLY done, keep the area very clean, DON’T TOUCH IT until it heals, and it will take a few months and maybe even a full year to heal depending on your body’s reaction.
Ok…yes I will admit that I did it myself when I was 13 with a sewing needle.
But not even a week later because I did it incorrectly, I got it caught on something and it ripped out. Plus it got infected before hand and I had a very ugly scar that (now that I am 18) is starting to go away. I know you didn’t want to hear someone say go get it professionally done but they know what they are doing and it will save you a LOT of agony and pain down the road. And if you are under age and your parents don’t want you to do it, WAIT. If you want it pierced now you may not want it later so you may even be saving yourself the trouble.
Having the name of your spouse tattooed on you (in my opinion) is notorious for being bad luck and unoriginal. I think though that your idea about some sort of symbolism is a much better choice. Since I don’t know you I can’t really make a suggestion other than think of something that means a lot to the both of you, maybe you want to get a tattoo representing a special memory you shared, an important place you have both traveled to, or even something that symbolizes your love.
I would say red and black
I think black and grey would look absolutely wicked :]
It could be because your scabs came off too quickly (from clothing or other irratations) and yes sometimes the ink will come off with it, it may make the area have less color or completely remove some of the color. This is why they tell you when it’s healing DO NOT ITCH YOUR TATTOO! The artist I went to offers free touch ups because it’s not uncommon for this to happen.
I don’t think you should worry too much, just go back to where you got it done (when it is fully healed of course) and hopefully they will touch it up for free or for a small fee.
Bottom line, I think you should do what you want to do. I can understand why your dad is saying that because he just wants to make sure that this is something that you really want, he loves you and wants you to make the best decision. Tattoos are a big investment, and you really do need to be 100% sure if you want to get one because it will be on your body for the rest of your life.
If you do decide to go smaller for your first one be cautious because a lot of people make the mistake of getting a really small tattoo in a larger area and it doesn’t really look right.
I also think you should take time and look around at different tattoo artists in your area and ask them for their opinion.
I hope this helped!
I totally agree with you….why would someone go through THAT much pain for something that will practically fade away in a few days/week? People who get those kind of tattoos are just plain stupid and don’t really appreciate the artistry of tattooing.
I actually think it might be neat to have the pair of eyes on the back of your neck or maybe even between your shoulder blades :]
