The pain is just temporary, no matter how bad it hurts it will end eventually and you’ll (hopefully) have a piece of art which will last forever 🙂
With my experiences getting tattoo’d, the only place that made me almost beg for it to end was the inside of my elbow. That was sore. My wrist area was completely painless and in fact it was actually relaxing, however my best friend said his wrist tat was incredibly sore. Every tattoo is different.
I’ve stopped telling people how much my tattoos have cost because I usually end up with a ‘WTF’ look.
A friend of mine had some stuff added to her butterfly tattoo and it looked nothing short of gorgeous and when the woman next to us found out it cost her £180 she almost had a heart attack!
You get what you pay for though, you can pay £20 for a tattoo in someones kitchen or you can do it right, make an appointment in a nice, clean environment and pay £1000 for that awesome sleeve/backpiece etc…
There is one way to keep them permanetly black, and that’s too tattoo over them over and over again lol
All my tattoos are black/grey and even the solid black bits have faded since I got them in september, there’s no getting around it unless you actually did redo them every 6 months or so but that’s just silly.
All the time! My main jealousy stems from not being able to afford any more tattoos while I see people walking around fully inked.
Looks really nice, I hope it turns out well!
That’s pretty fucking awesome.
Depending on when you get the tattoo and go on holiday, the sun can have bad effects on your tattoo. If you got the tattoo then next day sit out in 45C the sun will severly slow down or even stop the healing process. If you let it get sunburnt then you’ve ruined the tattoo. Simple solution is just cover it up when you go outside.
A delivery driver I was working with today was staring at my tattoos, he eventually asked how much it cost me, I told him around £700 over 4 sessions. He snorted and bragged how he could buy a car for that or something useful. I told him that car would cost him thousands over the years, my tattoo is free for the rest of my life!
A wee old nun came up to my till today and gasped “what is that on yer arm!?” I said it’s a tattoo, she said what on Earth is it supposed to be? Not in any mood to sit and explain it all to her I just said it’s random designs (which it more or less is anyway). She asked if I had any more and I said yes, my cross on my left arm. I thought she’d at least appreciate that one but as soon as she seen it she claimed I had no sense whatsoever!
I said I’ll never have any sense at all if that’s the case lol she said I was very plesant but a very silly lad.
I hope tattoo ignorance disappears soon!
I’m having the same sort of dilema. I want to get my full sleeve done but I’m worried it will prevent me from what I want to do which is join the police force. I already have a visible 3/4 sleeve and I really don’t know where I stand with my chances.
It’s a tough decision for you, but if you have the option of wearing long sleeve tops in work, then by all means, get that sleeve and don’t look back.
The only thing that hurts more than pain is the price! When you’re as skint as me anyway 😀 lol
Do you have to leave the taper in the whole time? Like 24/7? I’m going to have both ears done so need to get the other pierced. I’ll try it myself and see how it goes! Thanks!
Cool. Is there a meaning to it?
The majority of women who come to my work are old bats or annoying little schoolgirls!
I work in retail and I don’t bother to cover up my tattoos. Only 1 of my managers told me to cover up, I just ignored him and went back to work. I have customers come up to me every day and ask about my tattoos. Not one of them has ever said anything bad or complained to management. Companies should learn that tattoos are more and more common everywhere, they aren’t taboo anymore.
As soon as I get my next full sleeve done though I will be covering up while in work.
