I agree with you, however tattooist will only put their absolute best tattoos in their portfolio for others to see. I guess this would really be the only way to know if they do great work, but there’s always going to be that risk that they really aren’t all that great after all.

I’m going to the Arizona Body Art Expo & Beer Fest this coming weekend and I’ll be bringing my pocket book along in hopes I find some decent freakin artists, God forbid I still end up with a shitty tattoo… I think at that point I’ll just cut my fucking arm off and go find a hole to jump in.

I agree completely… When I go get a tattoo, I expect the tattoo artist to listen to what I want and then for them to turn it into a work of art. I’m not an artist, I leave that up to the tattooist to figure out how to make what I want into something that is worthy of a great tattoo.
