try some fragrance free lubriderm a a few times a day, leave it alone, and wait the couple months it takes to fully heal.

Yeah that’s what I was using but I haven’t used anything since Tuesday night. Everything I’ve read says to keep it dry and not use anything right now. I’m just scared to touch it and accidentally pull a scab off prematurely and mess it up even worse or worsen the infection, it’s only my 3rd tattoo but first infection

if you think it’s infected,go see your doctor TODAY !

Oh believe me, I went to urgent care. That night at work when it got bad I wasn’t able to leave so I had to wait til I was off in the morning. They said it is Cellulitis and gave me Cipro. The pic on my profile is from earlier and it’s looking a lot better than it was. Just wanna know what else to do for care so it heals as well as possible

Is my original reply there? I don’t see it but it says it’s there. If not than the pic is on my profile, it’s the only pic there and was taken 10 or 15 minutes ago. After 2 days of taking Cipro it actually looks a lot better than it did. Oh and I should add that I work in a plastic injection molding plant where it could be contaminated easily and im pretty sure it’s how it got infect in the first place so what can I use to cover it while I’m at work? And any suggestions for caring for it while it’s infected other than finish the meds and keep it dry?. Uncovered the tattoo about 3 or so hours after I got it and went to dump a bucket at a press and it ended up having oil and grease all over the bottom that came in direct contact with the fresh tattoo. I washed it immediately but there was no way it wasn’t gonna get infected after touching all that crap. Dumb move on my part. Pretty pissed at myself for potentially ruining my tattoo

Welcome
Please post a link to a picture of it. No one will be able to tell you anything about it with out seeing it.

I can’t add the URL or anything since I’m on a phone but you can see it on my profile, it’s the only pic on there. The doc prescribed me Cipro but I’m wondering what else I’m able to do to care for it while it’s infected cuz nobody has told me anything to do except take the meds and I know I’m supposed to keep it dry but can I give it a light wash or anything? Or should I avoid that so I don’t accidentally rip off any scabbing prematurely? I want it to heal as well as possible. The day I realized I had a problem with it, I went to wash it and the skin in the middle of the reaper split open along with a few other spots so I’m sure it’s gonna look messed up when healed so I want it to heal good enough so it’ll look halfway decent when touched up
