When I got my first one, my tattoo artist said not to do those things until it has completely healed which for me, took about four weeks.

I had already found someone in Tampa. Ascension Alpha/Omega in Orlando. Since I’m in Panama City, Floirda their aren’t very many people here I would allow to tattoo anything on me. How is it looking after a couple of days? How old was your tattoo when this happened?

I’m in the US, Nebraska. I didn’t know I had the option of dry healing and unfortunately because I can’t get insurance through work or on my own…the doctor is someone I’d like to avoid.

It’s very frustrating because I really just want to do everything right and keep it safe and healthy until it heals.

It’s amazing how many different aftercare procedures there are. I was informed to wash mine with antibacterial soap 3-4 times a day for 7 days, and apply aquaphor once my skin dried. After 7 days I could switch to a normal lotion.

I was informed to wash mine before adding any new ointment over it…that way I wasn’t smothering it. I’d say wash it, let it dry completely and then add new cream over it….but I’m a super noob so hopefully someone else replies for you too, lol

Thanks you two! The sepia tone you mentioned is actually almost gone this morning…maybe I’ll heal up quickly? lol That would be great. Moving onto some kind of lotion today. It’s feeling a little dry using Aquaphor, but isn’t scabbing. Hopefully it doesn’t too bad if it decides to.

Hopefully my link worked. This is from this morning, day three. There is no red in the ink, it’s all black and white. My coworker asked me about the color and I explained it was just my leg screaming out in frustration for what I put it through, lol. It’ll go away…can’t wait until it does!
