I got my side done about 15 years ago and I still remember the crazey vibrations of the gun rattleing my insides when the skin over my rib bones was being worked on… it does hurt, but all do to some extent. Everyone is different 😀

degrading yourself for ink would just belittle the meaning and work that goes into creating it, by the wearer and the artist IMO

As a kiwi downunder I vote on going for the origional,
It seems a bit weird to want to change the stars… exaple, the NZ flag has 4, 5 point stars, so is closer to what you are wanting to get.. but it seems to me that you would be diluting the meaning by changing the type of stars you have.
