I got my side done about 15 years ago and I still remember the crazey vibrations of the gun rattleing my insides when the skin over my rib bones was being worked on… it does hurt, but all do to some extent. Everyone is different 😀

I was conflicted as to weather to point out that it is not any kind of polynesian work I have seen! Living in NZ and living in an area that is pradominantly samoan, rarotongan,fijian and also Maori(which it seems to take elements from) its not like anything I have seen at the swimming pool!! LOL
It looks like a crazy hibrid of a mixture of styles. Not to say its not a nice tattoo but I wouldn’t discribe it as polynesian style.

your options seem endless as to what you want to add to your sleve, that is a very cool first tat! I wish I had been so switched on when i got my first one, although there werent the choices 17 years ago….::sigh::

Ahhhh, come on guys, not everyones 1st tattoo is perfect! My first one looks a bit sad now but I wouldnt change it for the world…well I would really…
Im a bit shocked at you being 16 dude and getting such a big piece, But I guess its all a journey and its still early days for you.
It may not be the best work but its yours and you sat through it.. it hurts there too! I know!

here in NZ you have to be over 18 too BTW

degrading yourself for ink would just belittle the meaning and work that goes into creating it, by the wearer and the artist IMO

As a kiwi downunder I vote on going for the origional,
It seems a bit weird to want to change the stars… exaple, the NZ flag has 4, 5 point stars, so is closer to what you are wanting to get.. but it seems to me that you would be diluting the meaning by changing the type of stars you have.
Hope that makes sense?
