So, between getting a new computer set up and life in general getting in the way, it’s taken a few days to get back on. I expected honest opinions, and here they are. Not that every opinion is the poster’s own, rather than a parroting of someone else’s; but that only applies to a couple.

There are a couple of flaws that I noticed after the swelling went down, that I didn’t pick up on when I okayed the stencil. Mostly however, the proportions likely seem off in this photo due to the swelling and the angle. As soon as it gets more or less done peeling, I’ll take a better pic. One foot is definitely a little bigger than the other, and should have been at a higher angle. One eye is a slightly different shape than the other, and that’s what stands out, not the distance between the two. The thighs are just fine. That being said, when I look at the work, what I like about it surpasses the flaws.

The artist has been tattooing for several years, he’s done both of my previous tattoos, he has certainly the cleanest shop in a town of more than 80,000 people, and I had no reason not to trust that he would do a great job when I booked the appointment. He offers one free touch up within a year of every tattoo he does, and he made it a point to remind me of this during the appointment due to the fact that my skin (on the inside of my right bicep) was so red and irritated toward the end that he couldn’t quite see some of the colors going in. He would rather do a touch up than hamburger the skin. So after it heals fully, I’ll go in and see what we can do. Settle down.

So eat it and keep the blow up doll jokes to yourself. If you don’t like MY opinion, please reference the gesture that the figure in my tattoo is making.

Think dudette rather than dude. 🙂 Thanks for the welcome. I’m getting a pinup girl flipping the bird for my next piece, on the inside of my right bicep. My artist is drawing something up for me, apparently the whole shop was discussing it and thinks it’s going be pretty cool. I called to see if there was a drawing I could look at a couple days ago, but he hasn’t had time to finish the drawing just yet. He’s done both of my other tattoos, and he drew up the rose with just a description that I gave the receptionist. I’m a little neurotic, so before I got my first one I checked out all the other shops in town and found his to be the best and cleanest. Not the cheapest, but totally worth it. I live in a pretty conservative area, so I haven’t found very many people that are really into tattoos, so I’m glad I’ve found an active forum with good input.

I also live in Nampa, and just got an awesome tattoo at a new shop here in town. It’s called Munster’s Ink, it’s next to the Albertsons on the corner of 12th Ave and 7th St. The shop is really clean, they are very professional, and Mike (the owner) does VERY good work, nice sharp clean lines and great color. I got a big tribal wolf for my first tattoo, and I am very pleased with it.
